About Us

My husband got an embroidery machine in the summer of 2025  just for fun to do small projects for family and friends.  I started a website back then with the intent of placing some items up for sale at some point.  But then life got busy and the website just sat there.  Then in January 2026 as Operation Metro Surge ravaged Minnesota, I wanted to do SOMETHING to help but I didn't know what.  Then my sister suggested hats.  I liked the idea because it double helps, spreading support for those of us who oppose ICE and also raising money to help those affected.  We have donated over $900 so far, roughly 50% of the price of every hat.  I decided to rename the website I had created "Love Thy Neighbor" because no matter what you think of immigration, surely the tactics being used here are not right and not how we should treat each other.  I was raised in a small town Methodist church where I learned the value of community by delivering groceries to older people in town, helping at church suppers,  raking yards, and helping when needed.  I heard "LOVE THY NEIGHBOR" repeatedly.  And yet it feels to me like so many are ignoring this second commandment from Jesus.  It was literally the second thing he said was most important to do as a Christian.  There are those saying we should let people go hungry right now rather than help.  My humanity will not allow that.  Loving my neighbors is what I was raised to do.
